RoxTalk Privacy Policy

What we collect: when you create an account we store your username, email address and a secure hash of your password, plus any profile details you choose to add. We store the content you post. For security and spam prevention we process technical data such as IP addresses and browser information. The site uses functional cookies only (login sessions, preferences) - no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

How we use it: to operate the forum, send notifications you control in your preferences, moderate content, prevent spam and abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.

Where your data lives: on servers in Frankfurt, Germany (EU), operated by our hosting provider Communiteq, who acts as data processor.

Public content: posts and topics are public and indexed by search engines. If you delete your account, your posts remain but are anonymized (no longer linked to you).

Your rights: you can access and download your data at any time (account preferences > download archive), correct your profile yourself, and request deletion or anonymization of your account by contacting admin@roxtalk.com. EU/Swiss users additionally have rights under the GDPR and the Swiss FADP, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority.

Retention: account data is kept while your account is active. Encrypted offsite backups rotate automatically.
